Happy Easter one and all. The picture below was the view from the living room window on Thursday. The blizzard had also taken down the phone and power lines but at least I could still make a cup of tea on the camping stove. We've lost 35 panes of glass from the greenhouses just from the sheer weight of snow, and of course it's stopped work on the new poly tunnel which is being built to replace the houses we lost in January. So we're nearly all out of space and we've still got loads of stuff to do. I'm hoping it will thaw soon so I can put the hardier plants outside in order to free up room for those hideous pom-poms on sticks, the African Marigolds. I've cut down the amount of these over the years, but there aren't many plants which flower non-stop for four months without dead-heading. If anyone's got any ideas on Parks bedding, even if it's turf over the lot, I'd be glad to hear your views.

Dear Isobel, I am mortified! For, of course, there is an explanation for the snowy landscape, and such a horror story at that. April and more snow! How could I be so insensitive with my previous comment?! For a penance, I should willingly come and prick out all of your hateful pom-pom marigolds, even planting them as well. Happy Easter Sunday.

Dear Edith, absolutely no apology necessary, the pic was published on its own by mistake, as I'm still far from au fait (is that right?) with this lark. I'd love your help, it would be great to see you bring some style to our Council workwear.

Ah, the south has its virtues. We missed the second wave of winter, but I'll bet it's not over yet!

That last wave of snow should kill off a few more pests at least Iz if that any consolation.

I'm hoping this winter has at least stopped the pests in their tracks, the rabbit population has certainly dropped, could almost feel sorry for them.
